Gostisbehere is making the pp better...thats a positive. this team is 3-4 years away provided the prospects develop and no more bad contracts are signed.

Happy Thanksgiving to the American Flyer nation. Sorry you guys couldn't enjoy your holiday just a little more by celebrating a Flyer win.
Oh well.. We are know they blow.. So forget it, and enjoy your holiday
The Flyers are officially the most boring team in hockey right now. And Hextall has chosen the long long path to rebuilding. 3.5-Years into sucking now. I am predicting at very least 4-5 more. Welcome to Toronto fellow Flyer fans; Where you will scuffle for years, but never be quite bad enough to get better.

Hands of stone. Giroux, Ghost, Voracek and Streit are the ONLY players on this team with above average or better skills. I'm just hoping that they can acquire another 1st at the deadline and draft a couple of top notch forwards this spring.
just a quick thought ...do you think we could get a quality LW if we dangled Simmons...what do you think we could get back...i no he is not shinning this year but he is a proven goal scorer and a good net presence on the PP...his past performance should garner something worth while.....
Every one keeps saying the future is bright and this team is 3 to 4 years away. Ok that's great. Even if all the D-men prospects pan out (which we know they won't) in 4 years what does the forward core look like? Giroux and Voracek and what else?
The Flyers need a ton of skill up front, and it's not like going out to a magic tree and plucking the players you want. There are good dmen in the pipeline which people should be excited about, but you still need players to put the puck in the net.
The positive thing 3, 4, 5 years down the road is the absolutely awful contracts that is impeding this franchise's ability to improve will be off the books. That is something to look forward to for sure.

Konecny is a good start, but you're right. Hopefully they can land a couple more this Spring.

The only chance the Flyers had to make the playoffs this year included the younger players being able to produce ....Namely Couturier and Schenn ....but guys like Read and Raffl have been very disappointing as well. Simmond's has basically become a PP specialist. We all knew the D was below NHL standards...all competent but not a lot of skill....the Best guy coming in is in the twilight of his career...they Flyers continue to be in "Cap Hell"....Macdonald is a top 4 d man...he only had to go to the AHL to reach that goal...Vinny is dead cap money as is Umberger, so it's not like the "rich" Flyer can buy their way out of this mess.
Im sure Hextall is trying but there's not much point in trades when they will probably only result in side ways results....one thing to consider...I was at Monday's game and have never seen so many empty seats....I have never gotten those seats for so little $....snider can't be happy and at 103 it's not like he can preach patience....but what choice do they have???
This is not a bubble team, this team sucks. Vets for picks Hexy, vets for picks.
Happy Thanksgiving to all those in the States and happy Thursday to everyone else. - BiggE
There is such a lack of talent on this team. That is clear. No team is worried about playing the flyers. They are that soft and weak. Hextal has over rated his roster as in no way shape or form do I believe they are tanking. They are this bad.
Vinny rj Amac Medvedev Shultz all waste of money and no other team comes close to wasting $$ on so many stiffs

Seen enough of Raffl and Read. I know Read is loved by many, but he just isn't the same player he was a couple years ago. I would try to move him now before his value drops even more. This team is going no where, if possible unload some $$ and bring up some kids

Forwards develop faster than D so if you were able to aquire another first rounder this year and drafted 2 Forwards plus Konectny from last year, you can hope they will be playing in 2-3 years

I like read and thought he would rebound and he may. If u can move him now u do it for whatever the offer is.
When you are offensively challenged as the Flyers, giving up shortys and short sided goals will cripple you. Somehow knew asking this team to win 2 in a row would be too much.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Be safe and enjoy some great food and football. Especially that 12:30 game
Sell and sell hard. The secondary scoring just isn't there. Get rid of what you can. Their in the beginning stages of a rebuild which means their still deconstructing....not retooling like some seem to think. It's not about a tweak here or there. It's about getting value this year and next year in the draf. Jake and g can be here for the duration and can be the vets the youngsters lean on. Everyone else is fair game
